What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at NFI Industries?
This Accountant handles general accounting functions including accounts payable review, accounts receivable review, general ledgers, and assists in monthly closes. This position reports to Accounting Manager and/or Controller.
Responsibilities
- Monthly review of assigned profit center’s income statements.
- Analyzes and reconciles balance sheet accounts and takes ownership of differences and potential process changes.
- Provides assistance on the monthly close, interacting with various departments and levels of management.
- Prepares various financial reports for management and operations.
- Enters journal entries, coordinates accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Builds effective relationships with operation management.
- Participate in yearly external audits.
- Assists on projects or duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- At least 2-5 years of experience in the accounting profession
- 2 years of experience in General Ledger
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access is preferred
- Attention to detail
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience in Lawson Accounting Software/CSF a plus
- 5-10% travel to field offices annually
