Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Director Qualified Preschool Teacher to join our early childhood education team. Duties
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum that promotes literacy education, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Provide individualized attention to each child, ensuring their unique needs are met through tailored activities.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to support the overall development of each child.
- Conduct regular assessments of children's progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum development and share best practices in preschool education.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom that is conducive to learning.
- Stay informed about the latest trends in early childhood education, including Montessori methods and toddler care.
Experience
- Proven experience in a preschool or childcare setting is required
- Knowledge of child welfare practices and early intervention strategies is essential.
- Experience in literacy education and curriculum development will be highly regarded.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage young learners effectively.
- A nurturing attitude towards children with a commitment to their growth and well-being.
Educational Requirements:
Must currently hold a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field OR have a current Child Development Associate Credential with relevant experience in place of BA degree.
DCFS Requirements:
Minimum of an Associate Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education OR -64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 hours of college credit in Child Development, Early Childhood Education
AND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: - Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential OR - 3 semester hours of college credit in Administration, Leadership, or Management
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Paid time off during holidays
Reports to: Business Director
Benefits: One week of paid time off (PTO) after a probationary period is met.
Hourly Compensation:
$18.00 to $22.00 an hour depending on education and experience
