SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION:
Responsible for the overall management and operation of the Student Behavior Management System and Student Leadership.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages and directs the operation of the Student Behavior Management System.
Provides supervision, training, assessment, and leadership for Student Human Resources staff.
Ensures the Center student behavior management system complies with Job Corps policies and procedures.
Provides orientation to new students and staff.
Acts as a liaison between the Center and judicial agencies/courts; solicits legal representation for students; coordinates bail bond processes.
Initiates behavior-related serious incident reports and seeks prior approval of the Center Director and Corporate Headquarters prior to submission to Regional and National Offices.
Oversees the operation of the Behavior Review panels.
Promotes and oversees the student incentive program.
Administers penalties for disciplinary infractions in accordance with the Student Handbook.
Oversees the management and maintenance of student behavior management records.
Prepares and controls the departmental budget.
Plans, organizes and controls the use of overtime and on-call staff to insure compliance with Center and ETR policy and procedures.
Responsible for implementing and monitoring of the student leadership program.
Acts as Center Director in the absence of the same.
Acts as trusted advisor to the Center Director and is a member of the senior leadership team.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Demonstrated knowledge of management practices; proven ability to lead and support a team
Ability to understand, control and track direct spending and labor budgets
Demonstrated ability to work with challenging students in a variety of situations
Ability to work with constant interruptions
Excellent customer service skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient in the use of a personal computer
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
Demonstrated knowledge of student behavioral issues
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science or related field. A combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
EXPERIENCE:
Three years in youth counseling, law enforcement or related field; one of which was in a supervisory capacity.
OTHER:
Must possess a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

Retrieving and storing files and supplies; occasionally carrying and/or lifting light objects
