Job Summary
The Educational Bureau is a non-profit organization that oversees operations of the 20-bedroom historic Curtis Guesthouse located in the beautiful and quaint town of Ocean Park, Maine. Ocean Park is a seaside village in southern Maine located between the vibrant city of Portland and beautiful Kennebunkport. Although we have guests visit from all parts of the world, most of our guests revisit the Curtis each summer to enjoy the beautiful beaches, the ideal summer weather, our quintessential New England town and it's ideal location and proximity to countless Maine sites and attractions.
We are seeking an Assistant Innkeeper/Housekeeper for the 2025 summer season. This position would be five days per week including Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday for an 8-13 week season (flexible). Duties would involve assisting the Innkeeper in making sure that guests are welcomed and cared for in a gracious and accommodating manner and that the building is kept clean and well maintained on a daily basis.
The Assistant Innkeeper's position includes housing and a weekly salary. The on-duty hours provide for lots of free time to enjoy staying one block from a beautiful beach in coastal Maine. If a candidate lives locally and prefers not to live-in but can accommodate the flexible hours, the weekly salary can be negotiated.
Responsibilities
- Assist guests with house orientation and guidance as needed
- Maintain common area tidiness
- Make coffee daily the evening prior
- Assist with laundry
- Monitor bathrooms for cleanliness and supplies
- Housekeeping 3 mornings weekly (3-4 hours/day)
- Three evening housekeeping (1 hour/day)
- Two days Assistant Innkeeper (6-8 hours/day)
- Two days overnight on-call
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality, housekeeping or a related field is preferred.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as this will enhance communication with diverse guests.
