JOB SUMMARY
The Community School Regional Technical Assistance Educator is responsible for providing quality services designed to support student learning in community schools sponsored by ESCLEW in a specific region of Ohio. Maintaining a focus on student achievement, the Regional Technical Assistance Representative will 1) provide support to community school administrators, directors and governing authorities to improve school operations specifically in the area of student achievement and progress; 2) provide proactive and/or responsive technical assistance to the needs of sponsored community schools that reflect current best practices in education; and 3) provide support to community schools administrators, directors and boards of education in adhering to all federal and state laws and regulations.
Effective communication with the school, the governing board, management company, ODEW offices and all ESCLEW staff is essential. Also essential is the ability and skills to collect, submit and enter current and accurate data related to work responsibilities within the designated timeframes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in education. Master’s degree preferred.
- Ohio Department of Education administrative licensure.
- Demonstrated knowledge of community school laws, regulations, policies and procedures and community school academic accountability expectations.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in education required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures that govern community schools (academic, compliance)
- Knowledge of current educational issues and best practices
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Strong skills in data analysis including ability to read, analyze, and interpret data and reports related to educational accountability, achievement, and progress
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively in both small and large group settings
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to promote positive internal and external customer relations
- Ability to use technology as both a productivity tool and as a method of communication
- Ability to learn and use Microsoft and Google programs and features
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to model ethical principles and democratic ideals for students and the community
