What are the responsibilities and job description for the Attendance & Reengagement Specialist position at Educational Service District 112?
Under the general direction of the Attendance and Reengagement Manager, the Attendance and Reengagement Specialist develops and conducts intervention strategies to improve attendance in ESD 112 region schools.
Salary:
The fullrange for this position is $45,796.67 - $55708.64. Offers are made at the entry level of the range.
This position will work full-time, 210 days per year. The work will be primarily in Clark County.

Essential Funtions:
- Provide intervention strategies to increase attendance and reduce truancy in our region's schools.
- Work independently with students to facilitate skill-building in the areas of personal and social development.
- Provide consultation and trainings to schools on truancy prevention, best practices that improve attendance, and early warning sign programs.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and other required data.
- Assist with individualized student interventions.
- Organize Attendance Workshops throughout county.
- Coordinate Community Engagement Boards, recruit and train community Board Members and arrange for Board meetings.
- Provide direction and oversight to program volunteers and interns.
- Conduct home visits.
- Provide education and resources to parents/guardians.
Other Functions:
- Participate in staff and team meetings, in-service programs, workshops and seminars.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher, or two years related work experience.
- Experience in an educational setting.
- Experience with at-risk youth programs.
- Experience managing or inputting information into a database.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Juvenile Justice, Education, Psychology or Human Development.
- Bilingual.
Working Conditions:
- Travel within ESD 112 region; may transport students and conduct home visits.
- Variety of settings including outdoors, office, and classroom environment.
- Occasional evenings work hours.
- Regular attendance during scheduled work hours.
Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
