We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to oversee our office operations and ensure the smooth functioning of our financial processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with expertise in GAAP, accounts payable, and corporate accounting. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the overall administrative functions of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily office operations, including administrative tasks and financial reporting.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Utilize financial software such as Quickbooks for bookkeeping and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Perform double entry bookkeeping, ensuring accuracy in debits and credits.
- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
- Implement efficient office procedures to enhance productivity and workflow.
- Provide support to team members regarding financial inquiries or issues.
- Ensure that all documentation is organized and readily accessible for audits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Office Manager or in a similar administrative role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP corporate accounting practices, and accounts payable processes.
- Proficiency in financial software, particularly Quickbooks and MS Excel; experience with other accounting tools is a plus.
- Excellent skills in double entry bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, and 10 key typing.
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
