Computer Technician
SUMMARY:
Works with members of the Technology Staff to support proper maintenance and deployment of technology equipment. The primary emphasis is to support the district 1-to-1 deployment of Chromebooks with secondary emphasis on supporting Microsoft Windows 10 and 11, laser printers, projectors, and other related peripheral technology tools as supplied to students and staff from the district.
POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:
Salary/Benefits: $18-19.40/hr with single Messa ABC benefits. EPS provides paid holidays, sick time, and vacation days, plus three additional paid personal days.
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to the Director of Technology
Coordinates and supports district faculty and staff in relation to technology equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to diagnose problems and repair hardware or software on PCs (Microsoft Windows 10 and 11) and Chromebooks
- Ability to diagnose problems and repair projector connectivity with laptops and Chromebooks
- Ensure computers and related equipment in the schools are working properly
- Perform installations of computer software and hardware

- Ability to problem solve when troubleshooting
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills for collaborative work with students and staff
- Ability to be self-driven and work independently for completing tasks

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree in a related technical field or equivalent training.
- A Certification or equivalent training and experience.
- Experience working in an academic institution, preferably K-12 education, strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of information system hardware and software troubleshooting skills and problem resolution.
- Ability and willingness to learn new systems and technology.
- Demonstrated ability in handling confidential matters in an ethical manner.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of network design and administration.
- Sound organizational skills and an ability to recognize and change work priorities in a timely fashion.
- Valid driver’s license is required for travel between district school buildings.
