What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computer Numerical Control Programmer position at Sparc Engineers?
At Sparc Engineers, we believe in pushing the boundaries of manufacturing. Located deep in the heart of the Orthopedic Capital, our contract manufacturing focus is on motorsports and aerospace. Programmers at Sparc Engineers will be heavily involved with manufacturing prototype parts for INDYCAR and NASCAR teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Programming CNC code from 3D CAD data utilizing Mastercam 2024-2025 or Fusion 360 software
- Setting up appropriate machining tools, offsets and materials as required
- Operating CNC machines and verifying finished components as required
- Ability to build one-off components to 3D models, not production machining
- Interacting with Design Engineers/Project Leaders/Machinists to develop manufacturable components with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues
- Ensuring that the customer’s requirements, which include project timing, part quality and delivery, are understood and met
- Ensuring the shop environment is safe, clean and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques
- Identifies tooling needed to complete machining projects
- Observing all company safety rules, policies and procedures

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years of 3D programming experience on Mastercam 2019-2025 or Fusion 360
- Minimum 5 years knowledge of 3D metal cutting and machining process
- Strong problem-solving techniques & communication skills
- Able to work individually with little supervision
- Ability to read & interpret blueprints
- Preferred ability to create 3D CAD models from blueprints
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportion to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems collects data, establish fact, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
