Edwardsburg Public Schools, a National Blue Ribbon district, is accepting applications for a dynamic, energetic Behavior Intervention Specialist.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree (Preferred) in Social Work, Psychology Counseling or Related Field.
  • Ability to relate positively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work with other professionals in a collaborative manner.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of At-Risk and Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS).

DUTIES:

A. Provide problem-solving and implementation support to school staff on the use of: Tier I – Universal Supports in school-wide and classroom settings; Tier II – Targeted Supports to include research and evidence based behavior interventions, including data collection, data analysis and decision making in a problem solving model; and Tier III – Intensive Supports to include in-depth data collection/analysis (functional behavior assessment) to develop, and support the implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIP) in a problem solving model.

B. As part of MTSS, provide individual and group support for at-risk students, assisting students in learning social and emotional skills, as well as other behaviors necessary for school success.

C. Participates on the crisis response team for the school district.

D. Communicates and collaborates effectively with staff, student, and parents.

E. Accurately interprets and utilizes student data for programming needs.

F. Monitors student attendance, behavior, and course progress for appropriate interventions.

G. Use technology systems (familiar with PowerSchool) and applications to manage records, generate reports, and analyze data.

H. Collaborates effectively and communicates with outreach programs and community agencies for referrals and resources.

I. Other duties assigned by school principal/building administrators.
