EF High School Exchange Year is seeking positive, energetic, and responsible individuals to work with international high school exchange students at its camp held on the Muhlenberg College campus in Allentown, PA.
EF International High School Camp is a summer orientation program that blends the feel of summer camp with a simulated American high school experience to help international students grow more comfortable, confident, and prepared as they begin their exchange journey.
In a welcoming environment, students engage in enriching programming, practice skills from communication to English language skills, and form strong bonds and memories with other exchange students that will last a lifetime.
The ideal candidate:
- Is comfortable liaising with various stakeholders, ensuring that the needs of the program are met and that relationships are maintained
- Is comfortable organizing and communicating intricate operational logistics to other staff
- Is highly organized and has experience working with a large-scale student program
- Enjoys problem-solving, is solutions-oriented, and remains calm in fluid situations
- Proficient in Google platforms and Microsoft Suite, especially Excel
- Has a strong understanding of airport processes
- Is solutions-oriented in managing a time-sensitive workload
- Is enthusiastic, patient, creative, flexible, and has a great sense of humor
- Is an exceptional team player and enjoys working with dynamic colleagues
- Has stamina to work in a program that includes some late night and early morning shifts
Camp is broken up into two (2) separate sessions and includes staff training as detailed below.
Arrival to campus: July 7
Training: July 8-15
Session 1: July 16 – 26
Session 2: July 30 – August 9
Staff departures: August 10
This position is a part of our Senior Staff; all candidates must be available for the full duration of our summer season. The Senior Staff collectively is responsible for the smooth operation of a fast-paced and ever-changing summer program.
Responsibilities:
The Transportation Coordinator is primarily responsible for the smooth execution of fast-paced and ever-changing international arrivals and departures for students, visiting staff, and coordinating transportation for off-campus trips. Main responsibilities are management of the students' arrivals and departures at airports, including tracking flights, overseeing necessary flight re-bookings, communicating with on-the-ground staff at resolve any issues that arise at the airport, and overseeing bus lists and bus loading/unloading for trips, and
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing campus for student arrivals including public spaces and nametags, managing missing luggage, and general administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the program.
Requirements:
All staff are required to complete two online training modules to familiarize themselves with the EF High School Exchange Year program and attend a training prior to students’ arrival. Must have valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a minivan and 15-person van.
Compensation:
The Transportation Coordinator is compensated at $18/hour, with any overtime hours being paid at time and a half. EF provides transportation to and from Muhlenberg campus, including airfare or mileage reimbursement. All summer roles are provided room and board for the duration of the program.
