We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Planner for our client, a premier original equipment manufacturer in the area. The Production Planner will play a critical role in ensuring efficient and timely production schedules while optimizing resources to meet customer demands. This position requires strong organizational skills, technical acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Scheduling: Develop, implement, and maintain production schedules that align with customer orders, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment resources to ensure optimal productivity and minimize downtime.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to ensure on-time production while avoiding excess stock or shortages.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, procurement, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless workflow and address any bottlenecks.
- Order Management: Review customer orders and specifications to ensure production plans meet quality standards and delivery timelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve lead times.
- Reporting: Prepare and present production performance metrics, capacity analysis, and forecasts to management.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience in Production planning, preferably in a manufacturing or machine tool environment.
- Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external vendors.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices is a plus.
