Family Resource Advocate
Full-time, 40 hours per week, hourly
Schedule is flexible and non-traditional; based around availability of youth and families served.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides case management and family advocacy through the Effingham County Family Resource Center. Provides intake and assessment of potential clients. Works with clients to best meet their family needs for individual services. Provides referrals to a network of community agencies and services. Plans and facilitates or collaborates with local agencies to provide classes and individual sessions to increase family’s knowledge of parenting, anger management, substance use disorder support, mental health counseling, financial literacy, job readiness and other life skills. Works with families to develop a plan of support to best serve their individual needs. Provides support to DCFS Alumni under the age of 30. Conducts home visits in accordance with program requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Associate’s Degree required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience working in the medical, social work, or other related field
· Experience working with at risk populations and child welfare preferred.
· Must be able to work independently in a start up environment.
· Detail oriented and proficient Microsoft applications.
· Driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
· Oral and written fluency required.
