Job Description
Under the general direction and supervision of the Director of Surgical Services, the RN Surgical Services Resource Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional quality care by nursing and support staff throughout every critical stage of the surgical process. This includes thorough patient preparation before surgery and effective monitoring and support during post-operative recovery. The primary focus of the RN Coordinator is to lead, guide, and supervise all staff members involved in Surgical Services. This supervision will comply with current Federal, State, and Local standards, as well as guidelines and regulations that govern our facility. A key priority for this leadership role will be the continuous evaluation and reevaluation of our care delivery in each surgical area. Outstanding perioperative care will drive the supervisory functions of this position.
Job Requirements
Minimum Level of Education: Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred.
Formal Training: Extensive expertise in medical terminology and a deep understanding of surgical services and operating room procedures. Ability to prioritize tasks and independently work without requiring close supervision. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, Management skills and experience in planning, organizing, implementing, facilitating, interviewing, coaching, and counseling.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Must have and maintain an unencumbered Georgia Registered Nurse license. Must have and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, (PALS). Maintain all CEU’s as required by the state. Certified Surgical Tech (CST) or Certified First Assist (FA) preferred.
Work Experience: 2-3 years of related supervisory experience in healthcare, within perioperative services is strongly preferred. Intermediate computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet capabilities.
Computer Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
