EFK Moen, LLC, is a Civil Engineering Design consulting firm headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri with additional office locations in St. Charles, Missouri, Chicago and Fairview Heights, Illinois, and Atlanta, Georgia. We are currently seeking a CADD & Engineering Software Support Specialist in our St. Louis, MO office (Manchester/I-270 area). Job Description:
The CADD & Engineering Software Support Specialist is an early career position. Full-time and part-time candidates will be considered. The purpose of this position is to support CADD and other software utilized by EFK Moen for Road and Bridge Design as well as Traffic Engineering, Hydraulic analysis, GIS, and surveying. This position reports to the Technology Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive:
- Serve as the first point of contact through the company help desk for staff seeking assistance with CADD and/or other technical software
- Perform in-person or remote troubleshooting
- Follow-up and update status of support tickets
- Record events and problems and their resolution in logs and help desk system
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for both Bentley and Autodesk Software used for CADD, civil engineering design, surveying and related fields
- Modify, develop and implement CADD standards and DOT configurations for both Bentley and Autodesk products
- Deploy new CADD and engineering software
- Perform basic administration of Bentley ProjectWise
- Track the licensing of CADD and engineering software, both through company tools and manual methods
- Direct unresolved issues to company management
- Perform CADD production work as needed
- Perform other minor IT support tasks as needed
Knowledge/Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's degree in a STEM field
- At least one year of production experience in an engineering firm using both Bentley and Autodesk CADD software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
- Must have own reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed) for periodic assignments in our Fairview Heights, Illinois office
- Ability to travel to our Chicago and/or Atlanta offices if needed
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering technology or other related field with significant STEM coursework
- Experience in developing and maintaining CADD standards and configurations for both Bentley software (Microstation/OpenRoads Designer) and Autodesk Products (AutoCAD, Civil3D)
- Experience using or administering Bentley ProjectWise
- Competency in a programming language and/or databases
- Experience in delivering training on technical software using curricula developed by others.
- Basic IT support experience and familiarity with help desk software
Physical Qualifications:
- Ability to sit at desk for extended periods of time
- Ability to type and/or use a computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and crawling beneath desks
