Job Overview:
The Landscape Foreman is responsible for overseeing and executing a variety of landscape tasks, including planting, pruning, trimming of plant materials, spring and fall cleanups, mulching installation, and other maintenance-related projects (excluding mowing and hardscaping). The Landscape Foreman should have basic plant identification and proper planting skills. This role involves managing a small crew of one to two employees, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on schedule, and within budgeted hours. Accurate reporting and communication using ClockShark are critical to this position. The Landscape Foreman plays a pivotal role in maintaining client satisfaction and fostering teamwork among the crew.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crew Leadership and Supervision:
- Manage and lead a crew of one to two employees on various landscape projects.
- Provide clear instructions, assign tasks, and ensure efficient use of time and resources.
- Promote a safe and productive work environment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Project Execution:
- Oversee and participate in planting installations, including proper placement, soil preparation, and mulching.
- Perform seasonal tasks such as spring cleanups, mulching installation, and fall cleanups.
- Prune and trim plant materials according to proper horticultural practices to maintain the health and aesthetics of the landscape.
- Execute other general landscape projects, ensuring quality and attention to detail.
- Job Planning and Preparation:
- Review daily job sheets to understand project scope and objectives.
- Ensure all necessary tools, materials, and equipment are available before starting each job.
- Communicate with the Landscape Maintenance Project Manager or General Project Manager regarding any additional resources or support needed.
- Timekeeping and Reporting:
- Utilize ClockShark to log accurate notes and updates for each job, including progress and hours worked.
- Ensure all project hours are tracked and reported accurately in the timekeeping system.
- Monitor crew hours to ensure projects are completed within or below the estimated hours.
- Client Interaction:
- Serve as the on-site representative of the company, maintaining professionalism and addressing minor client inquiries.
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering quality results and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Crew Development:
- Provide guidance and training to crew members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Foster a team-oriented culture, promoting collaboration and accountability.
- Record-Keeping and Reporting:
- Use ClockShark to submit detailed and accurate project notes for management review.
- Report progress, challenges, and any site-specific concerns through ClockShark or directly to the Landscape Maintenance Project Manager or General Project Manager.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in landscaping, with a focus on planting, pruning, and general landscape maintenance.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of plant care, pruning techniques, soil preparation, and installation best practices.
- Ability to operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment.
- Proficiency with timekeeping systems such as ClockShark is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

- Project Completion: Ensure jobs are completed on time and meet or stay below estimated hours.
- Crew Productivity: Maintain efficient use of crew time and resources.
- Accurate Reporting: Ensure all job details and hours are reported accurately in ClockShark.
- Client Satisfaction: Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and address concerns promptly.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all crew members follow safety protocols with minimal incidents.
Reporting Schedule:
- Daily: Submit project notes, updates, and hours worked in ClockShark.
- Weekly: Review job performance metrics, including hours and progress, with management.
Compensation:
Starting pay: $26.00 per hour plus incentives and bonuses
