Job Overview:

The Hardscape Foreman is responsible for leading and executing hardscape construction projects, including patios, walkways, retaining walls, outdoor living spaces, and other hardscape installations. This role involves managing a crew, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on schedule, and to the company's high-quality standards. The Hardscape Foreman plays a critical role in job site coordination, material management, and fostering teamwork to deliver exceptional results to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Crew Leadership and Supervision:
• Lead and manage a crew of hardscape installers, providing clear instructions and assigning tasks.
• Ensure crew members are trained and equipped to execute hardscape installations effectively.
• Promote a safe and productive work environment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Project Execution:
• Oversee and participate in the installation of patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, driveways, and other hardscape elements.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with design specifications, site conditions, and industry standards.
• Perform quality control checks throughout the project to ensure high standards are met.
• Job Planning and Preparation:
• Review job sheets and plans to understand project scope and objectives.
• Ensure all necessary tools, equipment, and materials are available before starting each project.
• Coordinate with the Landscape Construction Project Manager to address site-specific needs or challenges.
• Timekeeping and Reporting:
• Track daily production hours and ensure accurate timekeeping for all crew members.
• Utilize the company's timekeeping system to record job progress, hours worked, and site notes.
• Monitor hours to ensure projects are completed within or below the estimated time.
• Client Interaction:
• Act as the on-site representative for the company, maintaining professionalism and addressing minor client inquiries.
• Communicate project progress and ensure client satisfaction during installations.
• Equipment and Material Management:
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of all tools and equipment related to hardscape installations.
• Coordinate material deliveries to job sites and ensure materials are used efficiently.
• Crew Development:
• Provide on-the-job training to crew members to enhance their skills and performance.
• Foster a team-oriented culture that promotes collaboration, accountability, and pride in workmanship.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in hardscape installation, including patios, walls, and other outdoor construction elements.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, design plans, and site layouts.
• Knowledge of proper installation techniques, material handling, and site preparation.
• Ability to operate and maintain hardscape tools and equipment (e.g., compactors, saws, excavators).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Key Metrics:

• Project Completion: Ensure projects are completed on time and meet or stay within budgeted hours.
• Quality of Work: Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
• Crew Productivity: Ensure efficient use of crew time and resources.
• Accurate Reporting: Provide detailed and accurate updates through the company's timekeeping system.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all crew members follow safety protocols with minimal incidents.

Reporting Schedule:

• Daily: Submit timekeeping data, job progress updates, and site notes through the company's tracking system.
• Weekly: Review job performance and challenges with the Landscape Construction Project Manager.
