POSITION SUMMARY
eGenesis is seeking an innovative Quality Control (QC) Microbiology Intern to provide technical support of eGenesis’ environmental monitoring (EM) program. In this position you will be responsible for basic microbiology, quality control, and data management activities at our manufacturing facility. You will work collaboratively to support our contamination control program and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) activities within the QC Microbiology laboratory. The ideal candidate will be independently motivated, a strong communicator and demonstrate a willingness to learn regulatory compliance. This position will be an onsite position in the Greater Madison Area.
\n- Coordinate environmental monitoring (EM) program activities with analysts to ensure program efficiency
- Manage the schedule for incubation/enumeration of media plates and track shipments as they are received at the Greater Madison Area Manufacturing Facility
- Keep complete and accurate documentation in electronic test methods, logbooks and equipment management software
- Support EM and laboratory deviations, including identification implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Author electronic data reports, SOPs, COAs, protocols, deviations, and other quality records as needed
- Work collaboratively with QC contamination control representative to support cleaning/disinfection program, material/equipment and gowning programs as applicable
- Continuing education in Biological Sciences or related field
- Experience with microbiology methods (plate enumeration, growth promotion, microbial ID, etc.) and aseptic technique in a GMP environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of or interest in learning US and EU cGMP regulations/guidance required
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage priorities, and maintain timelines for multiple projects is essential
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, at all levels and across various functions
