Landscaping Supervisor - Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for a full-time Landscaping Supervisor to manage landscaping operations and crew. Conduct business development and provide customer service. Supervises and trains employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and implements individualized employee training/service plans to enhance skills. Conducts reviews of individualized plans and completes performance evaluations.
- Documents daily attendance and hours worked. Reviews, edits, and submits time sheets.
- Completes timely and accurate documentation of training and business activities daily in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Develops and implements a business plan and provides good customer service.
- Assists in preparation of competitive bids, including commercial contract bids, monitors budget, and achieves financial goals.
- Performs all aspects of lawn and landscape maintenance, including mowing, trimming, spraying, planting, edging, etc. Responsible for contract grounds maintenance, including regular communication and follow-through with property managers.
- Ensures that all safety regulations are followed and promptly reports accidents, critical incidents, and injuries.
- Performs and trains others in the proper use and operation of equipment, including daily preventive maintenance, cleaning, and safety checks
- Attends in-service training, meetings, and workshops when requested
- Sprays herbicides at all properties as required.
Qualifications:
Must have current state-certified applicator license. Extensive horticulture experience to include landscape crew supervision, account development, and sales. Possession of Applicator’s License. Clearance through criminal background investigation, drug screening, and acceptable DMV record required. Must complete required training for maintenance of applicator's license and DSP status.
Free of tuberculosis in a communicable form. Must be able to push, pull, stoop, climb stairs, lift 50 pounds, and bend through a full range of motion. Able to communicate orally and in writing. Able to operate landscaping equipment and drive a large vehicle. Able to stand for the majority of the workday, proficient with Microsoft 365 and other applicable software systems.
Work Environment
Work is performed in all types of weather. Must be able to tolerate a work environment that is prone to hot and cold temperatures with exposure to insects, dust, and chemicals.
