Production Worker - Tidewater Drive - Norfolk, VA - Enjoy a rewarding and challenging position with a nonprofit organization helping educate, train, and provide employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities since 1955. We are currently seeking applicants for part-time Production Workers who will work as a member of a team performing unskilled production work. Applicant must have availability Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an industrial warehouse setting. Must be able to tolerate a work environment that is prone to hot and cold temperatures with exposure to dust and other potential allergens.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Hand folds, sorts, inserts paper, or other products.
2. Weigh count materials.
3. Hand strings, glues, or tape boxes or bags.
4. Follows safety regulations and promptly reports accidents, critical incidents, or injuries.
5. Works as a team with others to ensure efficient program operation.
6. Performs other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others. Pre-employment drug screening required. Must have a qualifying disability.
Physical Requirements:
Free of tuberculosis in a communicable form. Good fine motor skills. Good vision. Ability to lift 15 pounds. Able to follow verbal instructions or physical demonstrations of tasks.
