OVERVIEW:
As a Machine Shop Quality Inspector you must be able to support the overall workload of the shop group. You shall follow and support the Company policies and protect the assets associated with the operation. Your objective should be to support the Company’s ability to “meet the needs and expectations of the customers”.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read drawings and specifications, for final inspection of all parts.
- Familiar with measuring (inspecting) products with micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.,
- Inspects and approve/reject incoming parts/assemblies & materials, by confirming the specifications to our standards. Quarantine unacceptable parts and inform to concern department.
- In-process inspection of all manufactured production parts by confirming the sizes to drawing/specs.
- Document all inspection results in the in-process & final inspection forms.
- Ensure all quality checks are in place before the finished part leaves the shop.
- Generate NCR’s for parts that are not confirming to specifications, summarize defects and communicate to production supervisor & engineering for disposition.
- Maintain and update calibration log for all instruments in the shop and final inspection.
- Support operations in getting the hydro reports completed.
- Accept or reject finished items, generate final inspection reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years quality inspector experience (preferred)
- Experience with measuring devices such as micrometers, gauges, calipers, and other measuring instruments.
- Good team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Good communication skills
- Proficient in computer word processing and Microsoft Office applications
