Responsibilities
The Data Center Technician will be responsible for:
Installing and removing hardware into racks efficiently and neatly.
Collaborating with other technology teams to determine network and storage connections.
Entering Service Requests for network/storage/telecom connections.
Entering documentation in work orders.
Adding new equipment in the Data Center Inventory system (dcTrack).
Watching for Incident, Requests and Changes in the ITSM system (Service Now).
Working on Incident, Change, and Service Request tickets as needed.
Performing the initial configure of Power Distribution Units (PDUs).
Adding and removing records in the Data Center Energy Management and Power Monitoring Software (PowerIQ).
Providing assistance and acting as a technical consultant to Data Center users.
Attending project meetings and meeting or exceeding project deadlines.
Working with the team to maintain the neatness of all Data Centers.
Arranging delivery of equipment to other sites.
Being on-call as scheduled.
Ability to work either Day Shift, or Swing Shift, or Mid Shift including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
