Job Description
EideCom is seeking a highly talented and detail-oriented Technical Designer with a passion for creating impactful live experiences. As one of the fastest-growing event companies in the industry, we are looking for a motivated individual to join our team. This full-time position will play a pivotal role in collaborating with the sales team to gather client requirements for audio visual production needs, utilizing Vectorworks for technical design, preparing CAD files for rendering and using specialized quoting software to create detailed scopes of work and accurate quotes for client presentations. Reporting to the Sr. Technical Designer, this role will be based in Minneapolis, MN, or remote for qualified candidates. Occasional travel may be required for site visits and other team functions in Minneapolis.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the technical design and quotation process while meeting aggressive deadlines, communicating progress, and utilizing an established toolset.
- Partner with the sales team to analyze client requirements and design technical plans for audiovisual production needs at live events.
- Communicate technical plans at a high level across departments and to clients and prospects.
- Utilize Vectorworks Spotlight to create precise technical designs, ensuring compatibility with the company's inventory of audiovisual equipment.
- Build quotations for audiovisual production using inventory management software, with an understanding of equipment across all audiovisual disciplines.
- Collaborate with our 3D rendering team to ensure assets and vision are effectively communicated to deliver an accurate and timely product.
- Work with vendor partners to find creative and economical solutions for products and services not owned by EideCom.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Vectorworks Spotlight for event technical design.
- Basic knowledge of 3D design and rendering pipeline
- Advanced understanding of equipment in all audio visual disciplines.
- Ability to translate technical plans and designs to colleagues, prospects and clients.
- 3- 5 years experience using inventory management software for creating quotations within the audio visual production industry.
- Intermediate proficiency with building spreadsheets from templates.
- Experience with all the tools in the Google Suite.
Travel Requirements: This role may require occasional travel, including but not limited to site visits, EideCom team functions and in person sales presentations.
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 annually, based on experience.
