Description
The Account Manager is responsible for maintaining and developing long-term relationships with existing customers with the goal of increasing revenue for both companies. This position will need to develop a detailed knowledge of our products and services offered and leverage that knowledge to ensure our customers’ needs are always met. Account managers are responsible for becoming the internal expert and advocate for their customers, understanding all levels and systems within an assigned customer group and, when necessary, bringing together the right people internally and externally to accomplish all necessary business functions. A successful candidate will be able to effectively manage the corporate buying environment, as well as drive sales opportunities.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain a regular cadence of consistent communication with your customers to listen to and understand their needs, keeping them informed on all aspects of our business together.
- Manage daily communication internally and externally on behalf of your customers regarding ongoing orders, product inventories, and projects.
- Request and prepare quotes, samples, and presentations for assigned customers.
- Travel to customer meetings, store events, or trade shows as needed for your customers.
- Manage trade funding to include clearing and minimizing deductions.
- Advise internal teams on product and service improvement opportunities, based on customer’s unique feedback.
- Work with Director of Sales to execute sales strategies that align with both company and customer sales goals.

- Must have organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time salaried position.
Travel
Travel consisting of both car and air travel including overnights when necessary. Travel will vary depending on customer needs. Must maintain a valid Driver License.
Education, Skills, and Experience
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Business, Sales, or related field is strongly desired, or relevant years of experience in lieu of education
- Minimum of 2 years of recent sales, account management, or buying experience is required
- Prefer 2-3 years of experience in CPG/food industry sales
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point is required
- Previous experience in the retail industry is strongly desired, but not required
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily based in our sales office, but varies between the office, production plant, and warehouses. At times while in the plant you may be exposed to allergens, powered equipment, and loud noises.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear. The employee must be able to sit for the duration of the shift, lift up to 25 pounds, bend, twist, stand and work on a computer daily.
