Einstein Tutoring is currently hiring a Behavior and Learning Special Ed Instructor to provide individualized academic and behavioral support to students with a range of learning needs. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality instruction and building a supportive, inclusive learning environment for students with autism, developmental disabilities, and other exceptionalities.
As a paraprofessional, you’ll work closely with lead educators, therapists, and families to ensure each student receives the personalized support they need to succeed. Whether assisting with academic instruction, promoting social-emotional development, or adapting classroom strategies, your work will directly impact student growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reinforce Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and instructional goals under the guidance of lead teachers.
- Support students in core subjects, especially literacy and math, using personalized and adaptive strategies.
- Maintain a structured, encouraging environment that fosters student independence and confidence.
- Help students build positive social skills and manage interpersonal interactions.
- Track student progress, behaviors, and daily observations; communicate updates to educators and families.
- Modify materials and lessons based on student needs, in collaboration with the instructional team.
- Use assistive technologies and communication supports where appropriate (ASL experience is a plus).
- Participate in professional learning related to special education and child development.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Background working with students with autism, ADHD, or other developmental differences.
- Knowledge of childhood development and differentiated instruction techniques.
- Experience in one-on-one or small group academic support, ideally in tutoring or private education.
- Familiarity with literacy-focused teaching approaches and multisensory learning strategies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Patient, empathetic, and flexible in adapting to student needs.
- Interest or experience in American Sign Language is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to work independently while remaining an active part of a team-based support model.
