Responsibilities

- Support students in daily activities, including academic tasks, social interactions, and personal care as needed.
- Help create and adapt instructional materials to meet the diverse learning styles of students.
- Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers regarding student performance and engagement.
- Facilitate communication between students and peers, promoting an inclusive classroom environment.
- Participate in lesson planning and curriculum development to enhance literacy education and overall student learning experiences.
- Collaborate with specialists, such as speech therapists or occupational therapists, to support student development effectively.
- Maintain a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning for all students.
Skills
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
- Experience in curriculum development tailored for special education settings.
- Familiarity with lesson planning techniques that accommodate various learning needs.
- Strong understanding of literacy education strategies for children with disabilities.

- Knowledge of deaf education practices, including proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Experience with Montessori methods or similar educational approaches is a plus.
