A Passenger Compliance Manager ensures company's operations involving passenger transportation adhere to all relevant DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, policies, and safety standards, including maintaining accurate records, conducting audits, and providing training. This position will be responsible for creating and/or adding to the company's SOP's and contract obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
Compliance:
- Ensure all company operations involving passenger transportation comply with DOT regulations, including those related to safety, hours of service, vehicle inspections, and driver qualifications.
- Stay up to date on changes to DOT regulations and ensure the company's compliance with these changes.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections to identify potential compliance issues.
- Respond to DOT violations and work to resolve them.
- Maintain accurate records of all compliance activities.
Driver Qualification Files:
- Maintain and update driver qualification files (DQFs) to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Review driver motor vehicle records (MVRs) and take appropriate action based on findings.
- Conduct driver and vehicle audits as needed.
Training:
- Develop and deliver training programs to employees on DOT regulations and compliance procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on compliance issues.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of all compliance activities, including inspections, audits, and training.
- Ensure that all records are readily available for review by DOT officials.
Communication:
- Communicate with drivers, managers, and other stakeholders on compliance issues.
- Provide regular reports on compliance status to management.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Develop and implement a safety management system (SMS) to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- Experience in DOT compliance, preferably in the passenger transportation industry.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Experience with driver qualification files (DQFs).
- Experience with safety management systems (SMS).

Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
