The NextGen Application Analyst position supports Eisner Health through technical support of the clinical, dental, and practice management applications within the NextGen electronic health record (EHR) software. This role provides daily support to physicians and staff through application development and enhancement, error troubleshooting and resolution, and production support. This role will also support continual improvement efforts through workflow analysis, testing, training, and documentation. This role reports to the Director of Information Systems.

Core Job Responsibilities (Essential Duties):

The key duties and responsibilities of the NextGen Application Analyst include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with end users and internal partners to triage and troubleshoot NextGen technical issues, driving towards root cause identification and resolution
  • Configure the NextGen system based on workflow enhancements, improvement efforts, and new requirements, in collaboration with internal teams and in alignment with Eisner Health’s business practices
  • Lead and/or support of moderately complex projects which may include planning, process mapping, software design and configuration, testing and validation, training development, and site-by-site implementation
  • Lead and/or support collaborative improvement efforts, including recommending modifications to the EHR and end user workflows to ensure accurate and timely collection of necessary data
  • Gather and analyze requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to inform the design and configuration of the NextGen system
  • Provide technical and operational guidance and education in efficient and effective use of applications
  • Develop and maintain application end user and super user training curriculum
  • Create and maintain application technical support documentation
  • Maintain up to date knowledge/training in all applications supported within the department
  • Perform other duties as required

Essential Qualities

The essential qualities necessary of the NextGen Application Analyst include, but are not limited to:

  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and concepts to non-technical individuals
  • Ability to build and maintain interpersonal relationships with management, physicians, staff, and vendors
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing systems analyst tasks

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Healthcare, or related field and/or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience supporting ambulatory EHR or clinical systems and applications required
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience supporting NextGen Practice Management and Electronic Health Records systems required
  • Experience supporting Community Health Center (CHC) or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) organizations and reporting needs (such as HRSA UDS reporting, Meaningful Use, NCQA, PCMH, etc.) preferred
  • Experience with creating written technical and end user support documentation preferred
  • Experience with training super users and end users preferred
