We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Salesperson to join the team and help grow our market presence. This role would be a category adjacent to our current core business of In Shell Peanuts that has retailers, food service, etc. As customers.
Job Summary:
The Salesperson will be responsible for buying from our farmers and selling sweet potatoes to produce markets, minor and major retailers, and food service industries. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with farmers and clients, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of products. We need a dynamic and driven individual given the startup nature of this role; a self-starting attitude is key to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with our Farms to buy and pack Sweet Potatoes.
- Identify and target potential clients in produce markets, retail, and food service industries.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with buyers.
- Coordinate logistics as needed to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
- Provide excellent customer service and address client inquiries and concerns.
- Prepare sales reports and forecasts for management review.
- Attend industry events and trade shows to promote products and network with potential clients.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the produce or food industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
- Knowledge of market trends and competitor activities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HubSpot CRM software.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
