Overview
The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position involves developing and implementing individualized care plans, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a supportive environment that promotes the well-being and independence of clients. The QIDP collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support tailored to each individual's needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service plans for clients with intellectual disabilities.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate clients' needs, strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of client information.
  • Provide training and support to staff on best practices in memory care, hospice care, and daily living activities (ADLs).
  • Facilitate communication among clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to promote effective care coordination.
  • Address conflicts that may arise among clients or staff through conflict management strategies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in social work and care for individuals with disabilities.
  • Drive to various locations as needed to provide services or attend meetings.

Experience

  • A background in social work, mental health, nursing, or related fields is preferred.
  • Experience as a CNA is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CPR and first aid principles is beneficial.
  • Proven ability to manage conflict effectively within a team setting.
  • Familiarity with the daily living activities (ADLs) required for supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively it a must.
  • Ability to train staff is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license is required for this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31,359.00 - $38,000.00 per year
