Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential nursing care to patients in various settings, including senior care facilities, teaching hospitals, and outpatient clinics. As an LPN, you will work under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
Duties
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any significant changes to the supervising nurse.
- Assist with patient assessments and contribute to discharge planning.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management.
- Perform procedures such as spinal taps and botulinum toxin treatments as required.
- Document patient care accurately in electronic health records, utilizing systems like Athenahealth.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in various settings, including ICU and occupational health environments.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the healthcare facility.
Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in senior care or hospital medicine.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding is a plus.
- Experience working in a teaching hospital or critical care environment is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for patient education are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating independent judgment when necessary.
