Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in critical care nursing and demonstrate exceptional clinical skills. As an ICU nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with severe and life-threatening conditions, ensuring their safety and comfort while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Duties
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and medical conditions continuously.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosage and timing.
- Perform airway management procedures as needed, including intubation and extubation.
- Provide critical care interventions for patients requiring dialysis and other specialized treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records, documenting all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct phlebotomy procedures for laboratory testing as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the ICU to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in critical care nursing or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding and internal medicine principles is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Level I Trauma Center protocols is a plus.
- Strong skills in medication administration and patient assessment techniques.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and team members effectively.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
Pay: $75.00 - $83.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
