Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As an ICU nurse, you will be responsible for monitoring critically ill patients, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions regularly.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform triage assessments and assist in discharge planning for patients transitioning from the ICU.
- Utilize advanced medical equipment and technology, including CT scans and mammography systems, as part of patient diagnostics.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including documentation of ICD-10 codes for billing and compliance purposes.
- Participate in home care coordination for patients requiring follow-up after discharge from the ICU.
Skills
- Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to recognize changes in patient conditions promptly.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and laboratory sample collection.
- Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient families.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-stress environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of discharge planning processes and resources available for patients post-discharge.
