Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in trauma medicine and hospital care, with the ability to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, vital signs, and physiology, along with hands-on experience in urgent care settings.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions throughout the surgical process.
- Assist surgeons and surgical teams by preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment is sterile and ready for use.
- Perform IV infusions and manage specimen collection processing as needed.
- Administer medications and support anesthesia as directed by the anesthesiologist.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about post-operative care, including any necessary follow-up procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Proven experience in an operating room or surgical setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of trauma medicine, hospital medicine, urgent care practices, and dementia care is highly desirable.
- Proficient in performing spinal taps and other relevant clinical skills.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and physiology knowledge is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating compassion for patients.
