Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Progressive Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a progressive care setting, focusing on patients who require close monitoring and specialized medical attention. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and delivering exceptional nursing care tailored to individual patient needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine health status and care needs.
- Administer IV infusions and manage medication protocols as prescribed.
- Provide ostomy care and educate patients on self-management techniques.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in communication with healthcare team members.
- Assist in family planning discussions and provide relevant resources to patients.
- Collaborate with primary care providers to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Manage durable medical equipment (DME) needs for patients as required.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Cerner or similar electronic health record systems.
- Support memory care initiatives for patients with cognitive impairments.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting care plans as necessary.
Requirements
- Valid nursing license in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in a progressive care or similar nursing environment.
- Strong knowledge of IV infusion techniques and medication administration.
- Familiarity with ostomy care practices and patient education.
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology relevant to nursing practice.
- Experience with family planning services is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments effectively.
- Knowledge of primary care principles and practices is advantageous.
- Experience with DME management in a clinical setting is a plus.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, particularly Cerner, is desirable.
