We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to set up and operate mechanically controlled production equipment such as press brakes, saws, drills, spot welders, flame cutters, shears, and similar machinery. This role requires a keen attention to detail, proficiency in tool and process knowledge, and the ability to maintain quality standards while adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate mechanically controlled production equipment, including but not limited to press brakes, saws, drills, spot welders, flame cutters, and shears.
- Install tools, dies, or fixtures to produce parts according to blueprint tolerance and specifications.
- Utilize wrenches, hoists, gauges, and precision measuring equipment to ensure accurate machine setup.
- Align machine positions with tool sequence, clearances, and part dimensions.
- Adjust speeds, feeds, and depth of cut settings as required.
- Perform first piece inspection and obtain approval before proceeding with production.
- Mark approved pieces as samples for operators to follow.
- Ensure all safety features and devices are functional and correctly set before operating machines.
- Report any job irregularities or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
- Take ownership of the quality of own work and ensure adherence to production schedules.
- Conduct weekly machine inspections to ensure proper functioning and identify potential issues.
- Handle materials as required, ensuring proper material handling practices are followed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety.
- Keep accurate production and quality records as per company guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support operational needs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC Setup Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools, equipment, and processes.
- Ability to frequently handle weights between 21-50 lbs.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new job duties and procedures.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to instruct others in machine operations.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
Working hours: 3rd shift - 10:45pm-7:15am
Compensation: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
