The Production Assistant is responsible for operating various equipment used in the production process, including demount units, A-frames, plate micrometers, foot shears, rubber cutters, video mounters, anilox roll cleaners, sleeve storage units, and photopolymer drill tables. They must ensure the safe operation of this equipment to prevent injuries and damage. Additionally, the Production Assistant inspects incoming photopolymer plates for accuracy and quality, interprets production schedules to determine material needs, and mounts orders according to specifications. They are also responsible for maintaining plate inventory and scheduling platemaking activities as required.
Responsibilities:
- Operate demount units, A-frames, plate micrometers, foot shears, rubber cutters, video mounters, anilox roll cleaners, sleeve storage units, and photopolymer drill tables.
- Ensure safe operation of all equipment to prevent injuries and damage.
- Inspect incoming photopolymer plates for design accuracy, image number accuracy, and quality.
- Interpret production schedules to determine raw material needs and mount orders in advance of production runs.
- Mount orders according to data sheets or special instructions.
- Determine appropriate mounting tape for orders based on print application.
- Mount plates for processing through printing, maintaining quality workmanship standards.
- Monitor plate inventory and schedule platemaking activities as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating production equipment, preferably in a printing or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment operation tracking.
Working Hours: 3:00pm-11:00pm
Compensation: $16.00 per hour
