The Veterinary Assistant will provide clinical support to 7 veterinarians working in a high-volume, fast-paced, growing, small-animal private practice in Atascadero, California.
Position Summary: As a Veterinary Room Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinary team by assisting with various tasks in the examination and treatment rooms. You will work alongside veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide top-notch care to our patients. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for animals and want to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms for appointments.
- Handle and restrain animals as needed for procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized.
- Assist with the administration of medications and treatments.
- Record and maintain accurate patient records.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, offering exceptional customer service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
- Passion for working with animals and a desire to learn.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle and restrain animals in a safe and compassionate manner.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as needed.
- Basic computer skills.
All shifts available. Weekends and Holidays is a must.
Compensation Package for 35 hour/week:
