Job Title: Special Education and Student Services Administrator
About the Position:
This is a leadership position that oversees the administration of special education programs, student services, and related support staff. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be knowledgeable about educational policies and procedures, and have experience in supervising and evaluating staff.
Responsibilities:
A. Qualifications:
- A minimum of five (5) years of teaching, administrative, and/or pupil personnel experience in grades K-12;
- Recognition for familiarity with elementary education programs, knowledge of special education programs, and pupil personnel services;
- Hold or qualify for an appropriate California Administrative Credential, Pupil Personnel Services Credential, and Master's Degree required; bilingual skills in Spanish and English preferred.
B. Position Responsibilities:
- Supervise staff members assigned to the Special Education and Student Services Department;
- Oversee, supervise, and evaluate student services programs/staff, including school psychologists, pupil services and attendance counselors, and other assigned counselors;
- Work with Principals, certificated staff, and support personnel to develop, monitor, and evaluate State, Federal, and district special education and student services programs;
- Represent District in SELPA Operations Committee and other SELPA committees assigned;
- Serve as Superintendent's designee on SELPA Executive Board and as assigned by Superintendent;
- Maintain and disseminate confidential records involving special education students;
- Provide direct assistance to each site for special education and student services program implementation and evaluation;
- Prepare and complete all special education and student services State and Federal reports;
- Collect, maintain, and analyze testing and statistical data related to special education and student services;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
A combination of training and/or experience demonstrating the required skills, knowledge, and abilities may be considered by the District Administration and/or the Governing Board.
Compensation: $168,176 - $207,273 per year
