What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Mentors position at El Concilio?
El Concilio California is seeking to fulfill part-time positions of Youth Mentors for an Afterschool Program. Responsibilities will consist of monitoring up to 20 students per Youth Mentor. The Youth Mentor must be able to plan and implement various recreational and student enrichment activities. Youth Mentors will scaffold activities with promote team building, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving through sports. Youth Mentors must manage student behavior during after school and follow up using appropriate school policies and procedures. They must maintain system for managing documents, distribution, collection, and storage of registration forms and other paperwork related to program purposes. Youth Mentors will build strong professional relationships with students, families, and staff through consistent communication and follow-up.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Hours vary upon site.
Requirements: Background Check, Livescan Finger Prints, Health Records/Immunizations, Valid Driver's License.
Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED equivalency, with 48 semester units from an accredited college is required; or pass the No Child Left Behind proficiency test in lieu of 48 semester units.
