Established in 2008, Hands4Hope-Youth Making A Difference is a youth-driven organization with Education and Community Engagement Programs that use the service-learning strategy to inspire and empower youth in leadership and service. Hands4Hope strives to develop and nurture youth leaders in our community into socially responsible, civic-minded residents who have compassion for others; who engage in action to bring about change; and who work for a safe, vital community. Hands4Hope youth create and plan their own projects to support local charities and address unmet community needs. Along the way, they gain experience and skills. At our core, EDCOE supports the diverse educational needs of El Dorado County’s student population not only in schools but throughout the community. Our leadership provides students with progressive and engaging learning experiences, while facilitating collaboration that maximizes resources for school districts and the county alike. Our goal is to deliver educational excellence through responsible, cost-effective centralized services in order to meet regulatory and educational standards in a safe, successful, educational environment for all of our children. Under the general direction of the Deputy Director performs complex and varied coordinating, administrative, and mentoring duties and provides support to the overall Education Program. The Education Program Coordinator will provide technical, basic budgeting, project management and clerical support to after-school event committees, act as a mentor and first point of contact for youth participants and community agencies, with a primary focus on youth in grades 6th-12th. The Education Program Coordinator will be a strong supporter of the organization’s mission, collaborate with schools and other non-profit agencies for the benefit of the community and be responsible for completing diverse administrative tasks.
