Job Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Chemistry Teacher at El Dorado High School in Arkansas. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Physics, Environmental Science, and Chemistry classes, as well as developing curriculum and facilitating communication among students and colleagues.
Performance Responsibilities
- Prepare for and instruct assigned classes in the designated locations and times.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district.
- Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs of the students.
- Takes all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Evaluates student progress regularly and communicates that progress to the students and parents.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
- Attends and participates in professional, in-service, and faculty meetings.
- Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Acknowledges responsibility for extra-curricular activities as assigned.
- Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aides and/or lab assistants.
