Assists in the management and maintenance of various Geographical Information System (GIS) related asset datasets stored in a variety of enterprise level asset databases. Participates in the development of strategic and tactical plans and programs in maximizing El Paso County’s transportation infrastructure. Conducts data analysis and provides various deliverables such as reports, maps, and other related documents. This position is part of the Geospatial Analyst career progression series, which includes Associate Geospatial Analyst, Geospatial Analyst, and Senior Geospatial Analyst. An employee is eligible to advance to the next position within the series when the employee has met the criteria for advancement as notated within the job description and has received a recommendation from the Hiring Authority.
- Assists in maintaining Department of Public Works (DPW) asset data dictionary standards.
- Creates, maintains, and modifies asset data inventories in various enterprise-level and siloed asset management systems (AMS).
- Prepares geospatial datasets through digitization, data conversion, and manual data entry of electronic and paper-based records into GIS.
- Conducts continuous refinement and quality control of Asset Management data; generates reports and conducts data analysis as needed to arrive at results.
- Utilizes geospatial analysis techniques to provide a better understanding of certain variables in given geographic locations.
