Join our Staff Development Team as an Economic Benefits Training Specialist. In this role you will be instrumental in developing and delivering comprehensive training programs for Benefits Eligibility Specialist. You'll facilitate and help create engaging training materials, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques tailored for adult learners. Your role will also involve analyzing training effectiveness, providing one-on-one coaching, and collaborating with subject matter experts, and other professionals and agencies. You'll also address performance-related concerns, participate in administrative meetings, and contribute to planning and decision-making. Hiring Range: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually
This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, subject to change. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is non-exempt.

This position is responsible for preparing and delivering program area training to ensure the improvement of practice outcomes; develops metrics to analyze the effectiveness of training. Establishes, maintains, and updates training materials. May assist in identifying training needs.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepares and delivers training to assigned program areas to ensure improvement of practice outcomes. Establishes, maintains, and updates training materials on programs, rules, policies, procedures, and other areas of skill development needed by technical and support staff.
- Prepares and delivers information through a variety of instructional techniques and formats relevant to adult learners.
- Responsible for developing metrics to analyze the effectiveness of training.
- Develops and participates in delivering training related to departmental and assigned program area needs; ensures adherence to applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Training curriculum may include program area rules and practice, technology use/efficiency, customer service, client interviewing skills, conflict resolution, change management, etc.
- Evaluates and provides feedback to trainees and leadership; makes recommendations to supervisory or management staff.
- Participates in training for new employees; coordinates with and may serve as a liaison to external agencies as directed.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts, managers, and supervisors as appropriate.
- Assists with developing and/or recommending training in as related to program area.
- Provides one-on-one coaching and mentoring; may facilitate unit team building workshops as needed.
- Participates in administrative meetings involving planning, decision making, and management.
- Serves as a liaison to community professionals, other agencies, and the public; responds to complaints and concerns relating to training or performance issues.
- May provide back-up support to other units as needed.
- Coordinates travel arrangements for training as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Supervision Received: Receives general supervision. This classification typically performs job duties by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. Regular direction, guidance, and coaching from supervisor may be expected. There is a choice of the appropriate procedure or policy to apply to duties. Performance reviewed periodically.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of adult learning theory and the ability to apply that theory in the assessment of an individual's learning tasks, skills, and knowledge.
- Knowledge of the principles, procedures, and practices of staff development, professional training, and adult learning.
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to exercise a high degree of interpersonal skills and professionalism.
- Must possess strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Proficiency with computers and knowledge of Windows, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and applicable computer programs/databases.
- Ability to assess, develop, and deliver effective training.
- Ability to effectively train others; ability to objectively review and evaluate the performance and work of employees.
- Ability to assess situations and make prudent and appropriate decisions; ability to apply conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers, clients, other agencies, community professionals, the courts, external agencies, and the public. Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to efficiently plan, schedule, and organize.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- One year of training, facilitation, or related experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of CBMS experience.
- Experience with high-level eligibility programs such as Adult Financial Services or TANF
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must obtain and maintain necessary certifications as applicable to position.
- Must pass conditional post offer background investigation, motor vehicle record check, drug screen, and physical examination.
Work Conditions
Duties are primarily performed in an office and remote work environment dependent upon Department discretion and business needs; some travel may be required for trainings and meetings. Some evening work may be required. Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, manipulate, and maneuver up to 30 pounds. Position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, and crouching.
