Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter who takes initiative and drives results. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating activities related to training, continuing education, and protocol compliance for the Quality Assurance (QA) & Training team in support of the Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) within El Paso and Teller Counties.
What You Will Do:
- Coordinate activities related to training.
- Customize content to meet the needs of adult learners.
- Develop in-service training specifically for the QA & Training team.
- Queue the Queue for all PSAP non-compliant calls.
- Record and maintain meeting minutes for Q alignment and DRC/DSC meetings.
- Draft and submit Proposals for Change (PFC) to the Academy
- Provide Quality Assurance feedback using Protocol Compliance reports as needed.
- Oversee and assign Q-Calibration cases to team members.
- Instruct applicable certification courses.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new training techniques to enhance the learning experience.
Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:
- Principles and practices of the approved medical, fire, and police protocols.
- Adult learning principles and methodologies.
- 911 call-taking policies and procedures for police, fire, and medical.
- Quality assurance and improvement principles and practices.
- Create, customize, and present training materials that are clear, engaging, and relevant.
- Instruct public safety dispatching principles of police, fire, and medical protocols.
- Speak confidently in public.
- Write clear and concise policy and work instructions.
- Coordinate and operate effective quality assurance and quality improvement programs.
- Ability to deal effectively with various individuals under stressful situations and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education:
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- One (1) year of coursework from an accredited college or university focusing on education, communication, management, business management, or another related field is required.
Education and Experience Equivalency:
- One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
Experience:
At least 4 to 6 years working in an emergency communication center or in quality assurance using the current IAED protocol system with at least 1 to 2 of those years having experience in training and facilitating adult learners in a professional setting.
Certifications and Licenses:
Must possess or be able to acquire the following certifications and/or licenses.
- Possession of a Q.A. certification is required.
- ETC Instructor Certification is required within 3 months of the date of hire.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a nationally recognized Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required within 3 months of the date of hire.
- ProQA Instructor Certification (EMD, EFD, EPD) is required upon availability of course.
- Bob Pike Professional Trainer Certification is required upon availability of course.
- Communications Training Officer (CTO) is preferred.
Specialized Computer Equipment and Software:
ProQA, Microsoft Office Suite, Aqua, Equature, YouTube, Facebook, Canva and other creative design and educational software.
Requirements:
Must pass a driving record (M.V.R), drug screen, reference, and criminal history background check before starting employment.
Salary : $81,667 - $89,833
