Schedule : Monday - Friday from 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm
Salary : $34.16 - $49.47 depending on qualifications
JOB PURPOSE : The Systems Engineer I installs, configures, hardens, secures, tests, debugs, and documents servers and server environments associated with server operating systems. Performs routine maintenance for Operating Systems, Clinical and Business software packages. Ensures systems conform to security and configuration standards. Ensures servers are patched after patches are validated and tested. Modifies and upgrades systems software and program products to current release levels. Works in conjunction with various IT staff (technicians, engineers, architects, analysts) in managing server operating systems and application maintenance. Maintains documentation for servers and participates in change control process. Resolves basic problems and works with more senior systems engineers to resolve moderate or complex issues.
Essential Job Functions :
- Manages all aspects of server operating systems either independently or under the direction of a more senior systems engineer.
- Assist in managing El Rio applications running on servers and desktops.
- Effectively uses, manages, and configures virtualization tools and systems.
- Understands concepts and effectively manages server system hardening methods.
- Applies cybersecurity fundamentals, specifically as they apply to servers, server operating systems, storage, and other related infrastructure.
- Monitors and addresses availability of technical resources (servers, storage, interfaces, etc.) as assigned.
- Manages, configures, monitors, tests, and validates server backups, backup validation and restore procedures.
- Assist in implementing business continuity and disaster recovery concepts related to servers, storage, and related infrastructure.
- Participates in incident response activities (simulated or real), following BC / DR plans, following instructions from IT leaders and / or more senior systems engineers, as part of a coordinated incident response team.
- Plans, implements, tests, and monitors system automation and automation tools including but not limited to Microsoft SCCM.
- Develops and implements test plans in conjunction with more senior engineers.
- Develops backout strategies for critical changes with senior engineers’ review / approval.
- Implements, maintains, and manages a variety of system and infrastructure management tools.
- Participates in the evaluation of proposed infrastructure, server, storage, or other technical solutions.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control etc. for this position.
- Demonstrates an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and reporting requirements respective to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations :
This position requires certification(s) within one (1) year of hire. Any extensions due to scheduling conflict / limitation that prevents the individual from meeting this requirement requires prior approval from IT Management
