Position Overview
Elder Research is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to support one of our government customers in designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AWS cloud services, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD pipelines while ensuring security and compliance standards are met
- Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using CloudFormation templates.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines in GitLab/GitHub to streamline application deployments.
- Implement and manage Docker containers, ECR, and ECS for containerized applications.
- Configure and manage AWS Security Groups, IAM roles, and other security best practices.
- Develop automation scripts and tools using Python to optimize cloud operations.
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and deployment issues, ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to enhance cloud security and efficiency.

Required Education: Bachelors Highly Desired
- U.S. Citizenship is required (must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance).
- 3 years of experience in AWS cloud engineering and infrastructure automation.
- Strong experience with AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Hands-on experience with GitLab/GitHub CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
- Experience with Docker, AWS ECR, and ECS for containerized application deployment.
- Strong understanding of AWS Security Groups and IAM roles for access management.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Active Secret or higher clearance.
- AWS certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, etc.).
- Experience working with government or federal contracts.
