Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the QC laboratory to ensure that all testing and quality assurance processes are performed accurately and efficiently. This role involves supervising laboratory personnel, maintaining a safe and efficiently functioning laboratory, coordinating workflows, maintaining compliance with industry regulations, and ensuring high-quality standards for products or materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Operations:
- Manage and oversee all QC laboratory testing, analysis, and reporting activities.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure adherence to them.
- Monitor laboratory equipment to ensure proper functionality and calibration.
- Order and manage raw materials as related to laboratory use
- Personnel Management:
- Supervise, train, and mentor laboratory staff to ensure consistent performance and skill development.
- Assign tasks and manage workloads to meet deadlines and production schedules.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet company and regulatory standards and requirements.
- Investigate and resolve in collaboration with other departments, quality issues, deviations, and non-conformances.
- As a part of ISO efforts, conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all testing and quality control activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and certifications
- Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve QC procedures and laboratory workflows.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies, methods, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and other departments to enhance overall product quality.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure the lab operates in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Implement safety protocols and provide training to lab personnel on safe practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a quality control or assurance environment.
- Experience conducting quality audits and inspections with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience handling and analyzing chemicals.
- Knowledge of basic laboratory safety.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets related to product quality and performance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Familiarity with implementing and maintaining effective quality systems is highly desirable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $69,014.00 - $73,630.00 per year
