Elect IT Solutions is currently seeking an experienced IT Support Technician. This position includes the installation, support, configuration and management of servers, networks, desktops, laptops, mobile devices and applications. It involves the response and resolution of end user hardware/software issues, and the ongoing management of IT infrastructure's. This IT Support Technician will also maintain proper documentation of IT assets and provide status reports where required. This successful candidate will possess both the technical and team skills to facilitate the fulfillment of the business and operational goals of Elect IT Solutions and their client(s). The position is based in the Chambersburg, PA area and comes with a standard benefits package. Some daily travel to client site(s) is required.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure and support server, network and desktop hardware and operating systems as well as the associated business applications.
- Provide endpoint security support including patch management, anti-virus/anti-malware management, and local machine controls.
- Support of Microsoft Office and related office productivity applications.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software functionality issues and provide recommendations for short and long-term resolutions.
- Daily support of computers, servers and networks.
- Build positive relationships with internal and client points of contact.
- Some after hours maintenance support (updates/restarts), not an on call schedule.
- Work cohesively as part of a valued team to accomplish technical and business objectives, and to facilitate required resolutions to IT systems and user issues.
Requirements:
- Installation and support experience with Microsoft server OS (2012 thru 2022).
- Installation and support experience with various firewall and network hardware.
- Installation and support experience with VLANs.
- Migration and support experience with Microsoft Exchange to Microsoft 365.
- Installation and support experience with Microsoft desktop computers (Windows 7 thru Windows 11).
- User support experience with Microsoft Office and Office 365.
- Experience with desktop applications including but not limited to business anti-virus applications, backup and recovery tools, and PC management tools.
- Able to effectively multi-task with many new, ongoing, & miscellaneous technical situations simultaneously, while assisting other technicians in performance of the same.
- Solid understanding of the Windows Active Directory, Azure and associated features/functionality.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to regularly work with various hardware and software vendors.
- Strong administrative, written & oral communication skills.
- Driver's license and reliable vehicle.
- Background check required.
- Exceptional positive customer service and relationship skills.
Preferred:
- 5 years of IT server, network and technical support.
- Ability to configure, setup and troubleshoot network switching, VLANs, routing etc.
- VoIP telephony support experience a plus.
- Adept at IT troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and processes.
- Experience with mobile device support.
- Experienced on helpdesk and incident management/ticketing processes.
- Experience in team leadership and/or supervisory of others.
Preferred Education and Experience are as follows:
- An Associate's degree (or higher) in Information Systems and (5 ) years of Information Technology support experience in a business environment.
- Microsoft, Cisco, or CompTia certifications.
