What You Will Do
As a Manufacturing Technician II you will focus on the assembly, testing, and maintenance of our advanced electrochemical cells and associated equipment. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, hands-on mechanical skills, and a passion for quality craftsmanship in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble, test, and troubleshoot mechanical components, subassemblies, and electrochemical cell assemblies to ensure optimal functionality and performance
Collaborate with machinists, vendors, and the engineering team to resolve quality issues, construct unique jigs, fixtures, and test setups
Operate and maintain various equipment, including machine shop tools, welding, and fabrication equipment to build specialized components and fixtures for production
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to perform mechanical assembly tasks, document work procedures, and provide feedback to improve processes and efficiency
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment, ensuring uptime and operational efficiency
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce waste in production
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during the assembly and testing phases, adapting tools and processes as needed to meet evolving project goals
Accurately maintain records of completed work, including bills of materials (BOMs), production routers, assembly metrics, equipment maintenance logs, and quality control reports
Adhere to all safety protocols and standards, maintaining a clean and organized work area to minimize hazards
What we need you to bring to the team (Requirements):
High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years of hands-on experience in a mechanical technician role, preferably in a manufacturing or testing environment
Proficiency in mechanical assembly, fabrication, and equipment operation
Experience with mechanical tools, machine shop equipment, welding, and testing procedures
Understanding of GD&T and quality assurance practices to maintain high product standards
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently, with a proactive and hands-on approach
Detail oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality assemblies
Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with engineers, technicians, and other team members
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and production requirements in a fast-paced startup environment.
What we want you to bring to the team (Preferred):
Familiarity with CAD systems (e.g., SolidWorks) for drawing, documentation, and fabrication tasks.
Experience in developing and improving manufacturing processes through iterative design and testing.
Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, preferably with electrochemical systems or relevant industrial technologies.
Passion for sustainability and working with disruptive, cutting-edge technologies.
Safety-first mindset, with an ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards on the production floor.
Compensation
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $28-$31 an hour and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
